Junior Machine Pitch Division (Ages 5–6)
The Junior Machine Pitch division (formerly Coach Pitch) is for boys and girls who are Little League “baseball age” 5–6 and are ready to begin hitting a safely paced, machine-delivered pitch (approximately 25 mph). This division builds on Tee Ball fundamentals and focuses on developing hand–eye coordination, hitting confidence, and defensive awareness in traditional fielding positions.
Players league age 5 must have completed one season of Tee Ball before moving into this division.
Because players are still learning the core fundamentals of baseball, no standings are kept, ensuring a fun and instructional environment.
Division Details:
Team Size: Typically 9–10 players (LL allows 8–12).
Offense:
All players bat each inning.
Each batter receives 5 machine-pitched balls.
If no hit is made after 5 pitches, a batting tee is used to ensure success.
Defense: All players are placed in the field each inning.
Practices:
Scheduled 1–2 times per week, depending on coach availability and field assignments.
Practice days/times are not known until teams are formed.
Season: 10-game season with 1–2 games per week.
Game Structure:
Games are approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
Game times are 6:00 PM and 7:20 PM.
Junior Machine Pitch offers a fun, confidence-building introduction to hitting live pitches while reinforcing proper fundamentals and teamwork.
