Rookie Player Pitch Baseball Division (8U)
The Rookie Player Pitch Baseball Division is designed for players ‘baseball age’ 8 years old. This division serves as a critical transition between Coach Pitch and Sandlot, offering young athletes their first full experience with kid-pitch baseball. Players will pitch throughout the season, helping them build confidence on the mound and introducing them to the fundamentals of competitive play.
The division continues to emphasize skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship while fostering a fun and engaging environment for players. Equal playing time is prioritized to ensure all players have the opportunity to grow and contribute to their team’s success. This division builds upon the fundamentals taught in Coach Pitch and prepares players for the more competitive Sandlot division.
The diamond features 60-foot base paths and a pitching distance of 46 feet. Practices are scheduled 1-2 times per week, and games will be approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes long. The season includes a 12-game schedule with 1-2 games per week, typically starting at 6:00 pm or 7:30 pm. Scores and standings are kept, and a playoff with a single-elimination format will cap off the season.
